Stephane Bravin is a professional photographer located in French Riviera. He is a yacht photographer and performs worldwide. I was born in Paris in 1974, from an italian father and a mother originaly from « pays Basque ». Since my tender age, I’d loved playing with my father’s brand new Nikon F2 ! During my studies, I used to go to a phoographic club in the city where I grow up. One day, I had the opportunity to meet a professional photo-grapher, James Gely. Contact was great . A few weeks later, I took my courage in hands and contacted him. I was so scared ! When he hang up, his warm words get me confortable. Then I have visited his studio… this was the revelation. Photographer, this is what I want to do in my life ! I was sixteenI continue the classical studies, and then enter a professional photographic school in Paris. Diplôme in hands, I knoked at every studios in Paris. I started as a free lance assistant for 6 years, for professional photographers working in adver-tising, decoration, and in studios as la Camif, and finally magazines as ShowBoats int., House and Garden, Conde Nast Traveler… In 2000 I decided to come down the Cote d’Azur and specialize in the yachting industry and inside decoration.Today, my work fits in the tradition of the different photographer I worked with, in keeping my own sensibility, and my own photographic style. I shoot film as well as digital, fitting to my client requests.Most of my work is done with a 4x5 inches camera, and I take care of processing the films at home. This traditionnal technique gives the highest rendering in textures, colors, more details in contrasts, and keep the real atmosphere… as my eye catch it. I know exactly when I press the button how the final picture will be.I am working for international press, and luxury editions, as for famous designers and shipyards.
